Donors Beware: Are Your Dollars OPPOSING Your Values?
When it comes to generosity, conservatives far out-give liberals. One study reported by the American Enterprise Institute estimates conservatives give, on average, 30% more to charity than liberals, within every income class, from poor to rich. Another reports, “liberals have more wealth than conservatives overall, yet conservatives still give more.”
But the problem for conservatives is they unknowingly give to organizations that actively oppose their own values—especially in the area of education (the second highest area of giving, behind religion). A recent article urges: Conservatives, Stop Funding Radical Leftists
Are you a loyal supporter of University of Arizona (UofA) or Arizona State University (ASU)? Your generosity aims to celebrate the traditions and student development of your alma mater, but based on the mounting trend of blatant abuses, you’re likely funding the very opposite ideals you stand for.
Smart donors know what values their hard-earned money is funding. A number of recent lawsuits and complaints reveal these universities have punished conservative professors and pushed leftist political, sexual and religious ideologies. If that’s not the investment you want to make in Arizona’s future, you might consider pulling your funds--AND letting the school know why. (Note: Parent Weekends are coming with their ‘donor asks’. So be prepared to ask them about their policies before you give.)
Before turning to education, however, let’s consider your investment if you donate to Phoenix Children’s Hospital. PCH’s Gender Support Program had been treating minors with opposite-sex hormones and genital mutilation surgeries until these were made illegal. AZ Women of Action was first to expose this back in 2022, and many pages were removed from their website. We have the screenshots and the timeline of PCH’s gender program on our X account @azwomenofaction. ‘Gender affirming care’ is a lucrative business, however, so it takes involved citizens to speak up and protect children from (often well-meaning and uninformed) parents and doctors.
Now, what’s happening at UofA and ASU?
University of Arizona:
Dan Grossenbach, a Christian and former adjunct Professor of Ethics sued UofA because he was fired for publicly advocating for parental rights at public school board meetings where his children attend school. He had asked Catalina Foothills School District to reverse policies that promoted middle school teachers secretly surveying children about their gender and sexuality, and withholding information from parents.
Grossenbach, represented by Liberty Counsel, is seeking a permanent injunction that declares the university’s discriminatory actions illegal and unconstitutional for violating his constitutional rights of free speech, religious exercise, equal protection, and his religious protections under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. (See our Action item below in this week’s newsletter to make a difference!)
Dr. Matthew Abraham, a full tenured professor at UofA, is currently on paid leave pending dismissal proceedings. He’s also a practicing lawyer who was working with the Attorney General separate from his university position. Prior to announcing his dismissal, the university forced him to resign from the AG. Dr. Abraham says UofA is retaliating for his attempt at uncovering corruption. His case against the UofA for suppressing public records is expected to be heard by the AZ Supreme Court.
“Joshua” is the pseudonym for a UofA nurse practitioner doctoral student who was subjected to a mandatory Reiki session, which is considered witchcraft by many Christians and others. Joshua has also filed suit and is represented by Liberty Counsel.
Arizona State University:
Dr. Owen Anderson is plaintiff in a lawsuit against ASU for requiring DEI training to university employees. He has been warning parents and community members about woke indoctrination and Christian discrimination at ASU and other academies for years. He writes for The Blaze and can be found on Substack and X.
National distinction of antisemitism: The U.S. Department of Education sent ASU a letter in March 2025 indicating it was among 60 universities under investigation for potential civil rights violations against Jewish students, particularly related to antisemitic incidents on campus. Further research on this is recommended for donors.
What YOU Can DO-- YOUR Voice can help!
Email the AZ Board of Regents, the President of University of Arizona, and the President of Arizona State University with this (sample) message: As taxpaying Arizonan, I ask for a policy review to examine viewpoint and speech discrimination at UofA and ASU. Further, I am withholding my donations until American principles and free speech are upheld.
Email Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s foundation and their new CEO: (sample) Dear Mr. John R. Nickens, As a donor and one who cares for Arizona children, I urge you to consider the dangers and ineffectiveness of ‘gender affirming care’ on minors. Do not let political ideology overshadow rational, wholistic care of children’s real struggles. Please shut down your Gender Support Program. I’m withholding donations until this time.
