The Power of Words
Have you visited the doctor lately? Many have lost trust in ‘medical experts’, but there’s no better expert than YOU when it comes to examining your mind/body/soul connection. How are you doing? If you made an appointment with the Great Physician, what would be the diagnosis? And the treatment? It might be okay or scary, but what if the truth would lead you on a path of real wholeness?
This month Arizona Women of Action is focusing on Mental Health in our SALT (Strategically Advancing Love & Truth) groups. We’re taking an honest look at how our mental health is connected to our body and soul. There are plenty of gurus, doctors, pills and gadgets (and some are helpful). But then there’s Wisdom. And the Power of Words.
“Mental Health is pulling down the lies of false beliefs, and replacing those with truth statements,” according to Lisa Santagate, co-director of Wellness Ministries at Dream City Church.
Santagate spoke with one of our SALT Directors, Debi Vandenboom, in the Dream City Church podcast, Into The Fire. The episode is called “Overcoming the Mind”. This and other materials are included in April’s SALT curriculum. Contact us to find a SALT group near you--or start your own group! (It’s once/month and very simple to facilitate.) SALT groups may gather in people’s homes, churches or coffee shops. They’ll examine the current realities, and compare what solutions are available in modern culture as well as in timeless scripture.
Last week we celebrated the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In one of His most powerful statements, He explained the difference between the false beliefs we often find in culture, and the truth and power within His words:
“A thief comes to steal and kill and destroy, but I came to give life—life in all its fullness.” – John 10:10
Some other words that open minds and hearts to life:
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words.” – Proverbs 18:21
“Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:5-7
“When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your consolations delight my soul.” - Psalm 94:19
We hope you find words that bring power in your life to defeat strongholds and set you and those you love free to experience life in all its fullness! We’d love to have you join us on the same journey! Send us a message, and we’ll connect.
