Rushing Medical Experiments on AZ Children

It’s obvious there is an explosion of gender confusion in America. In just four years between 2017 and 2021, the number of children and teens across the U.S. diagnosed with gender dysphoria, nearly TRIPLED, according to data Komodo compiled for Reuters. The obvious questions should be: What’s causing this? Did human physiology suddenly change, or is this a social trend? And could money be a motive for the medical and pharmaceutical industries to take advantage of vulnerable children?

These are fair questions for everyone—especially parents protecting their kids from life-long harm.

Our own Adrienne Johnson, Senior Advisor and Director of SMART School Boards, has been a watchdog for our kids, especially since she dug into the policies at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

Thank you, Adrienne, for writing this week’s blog! ~ Kim

Phoenix Children’s Hospital is transitioning our children. They are using experimental medicine to help boys live as girls and girls live as boys. It’s as simple as that.

PCH, one of the largest pediatric hospitals in the nation, has a Gender Support Program.

What is a gender support program? According to PCH itself, their staff takes a gender-affirming approach to children who are struggling with their gender identity. The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH, a highly respected organization in the gender ideology world), has a manual called “Standards of Care for the Health of Transgender and Gender Diverse People”. This manual explains that “the goal of gender-affirming care is to partner with transgender and gender diverse (TGD) people to holistically address their social, mental, and medical health needs and well-being while respectfully affirming their gender identity—from the very first signs of gender incongruence in childhood through adulthood.” (Pg 57)

Gender-affirming care does not include treatment that would help a child who is experiencing discomfort with their gender, to align with their born sex. To be clear, according to the webpages on the PCH Gender Support Program site, if your child is struggling with their gender identity, PCH staff will direct you and your child towards transitioning.

Through the gender-affirming care model, children can be given a treatment plan that goes beyond social transitioning (the process that includes name and pronoun change, dressing in the clothes of the opposite sex, and using different facilities).

PCH medically transitions children, which involves first prescribing chemicals that suppress puberty, and then inducing wrong-sex hormones. This highly ranked children’s hospital is taking a radical and greatly irreversible approach.

The following is taken verbatim from their website: Programs & Services | Phoenix Children's Hospital (phoenixchildrens.org)

“Our program offers many services:

  • Consults with families about parenting strategies and support for gender-affirming children and youth.

  • Consults about using medicines to suppress puberty

  • Consults about gender-affirming hormonal therapy. (Hormonal therapy are cross sex hormones.)

  • Consults and offers referrals for readiness evaluation.

  • Refers patients to experienced mental health providers and specialists at Phoenix Children’s for ongoing support.

  • Supports and advocates for patients and families through various aspects of transition. These include transitioning in schools and completing legal name and gender marker changes in identifying documents.

  • We’re committed to excellent gender-affirming clinical care for youth and their families.”

Ever since AZWOA and a few others exposed the PCH Gender Support Program some time ago, PCH purposefully removed most of their gender support webpages from the public’s eye. We now have limited information on how extensive the program is once you are a patient. But archives and previous evidence tell of a comprehensive program which current patients most certainly are privy to. These included a vast number of resources that are known to provide ideologically based gender support, often without parental involvement and knowledge.

Most striking is that PCH provided information on how to surgically transition from being a boy to a girl or a girl to a boy. According to an online chat with a PCH representative, the Phoenix Children’s Hospital did sex change surgeries on children. We say did because thankfully such surgeries have been banned in Arizona. Unfortunately, the majority of AZ legislators voted to keep puberty blockers and cross sex hormone therapy for minors legal in AZ, so those irreversible, harmful options are still available.

While writing this blog, a report called WPATH Files was released that brings to question the efficacy and veracity of the gender-affirming care model. Per these files that were released by the think tank, Environmental Progress, “newly leaked files from within the leading global transgender healthcare body (WPATH) have revealed that the clinicians who shape how ‘gender medicine’ is regulated and practiced around the world consistently violate medical ethics and informed consent.”

The WPATH Files — Environmental Progress

It further begs the questions:

  • Should gender-affirming care standards have affected governmental policy, school policy, medical and psychological care, and health standards?

  • Who is behind the creation of the gender-affirming model of care?

  • Can children consent to this form of gender care that is life-altering and can lead to sterilization and other health risks when that care may not “meet the standards of evidence-based medicine”? The WPATH Files — Environmental Progress

  • Lastly, will gender-affirming clinics that treat children, like the one at PCH, halt their questionable practices?

What do we do now, Arizona? Here are my humble suggestions:

  • Reconsider your financial support for PCH until they amend this egregious practice.

  • Check with your school to ensure that your child is not under the influence of gender clubs on campus or school mental health services and staff that may affirm children struggling with gender issues.

  • If needed, carefully research care for a child suffering with gender identity issues.

  • Contact AZWOA if you have questions, concerns, or are or have experienced the difficulties of gender ideology.

  • Pray that children (and all people) will no longer be harmed by gender ideology and that society will recognize that sex/gender are immutable gifts from God.
